Buttercup 6 for Windows

Buttercup for Windows has been designed and programmed by farmers to be an easy to use and versatile dairy recording system. It has become a well established program and is in use on farms all over the country.

The following is a list of some of Buttercup's many features. 

Individual cow records, including pedigree, service, calving, veterinary, health, yield, cell count, BF, protein, lactose, feed usage, MOC.

Action list with adjustable parameters to list cows due to calve, cows not seen bulling, cows PD- or unserved, cows for PD, cows to dry off, cows to be culled and
cows for a Vet revisit.

A list of all events since the last milk recording (for the milk recorder).

Conception reports for days to service, success rate, heat detection observation rate, cows that have returned to service, bull reports and number of services per calving.

Cow lists - sorted by feed group, location, lactation, calving month, last calving date, next calving date, RM, EC, pedigree status, problems (e.g. mastitis), cumulative yield, last yield, pence per litre, PIN, CPI, CGI, cell count, PD status, dam and more.

Bull selection - rank cows by ITEM, PIN, CPI, CGI or MOC, include or exclude RM and pedigree status, then sort by calving date to produce a list of cows with the bull intended for use at the next service and a list of straws required.

Parlour lists - feed requirements, bull for last service, cows bulling not served, list services by bull, tuberculosis and brucellosis recording list.

Herd reports - lactation profiles and yield by month of calving.

Full movement and medicine records as required by law, calves sold, calves retained, cow sales, cows purchased, reasons for culling, analysis of medicine usage and costs.

Record "type classifications" and "show results".

Catalogue style printouts.

Diary for noting important events.

Supplementary programs for calculating ration formulation, heifer management, full costings, quota and yield predictions.

Can be linked to ATL memory feeders and milk analyses can be entered directly from OnMeRit, Scottish Livestock Services and HUKI milk recording services.
